If you were baptized as an infant, we celebrate that. We also acknowledge with you that was your parents’ decision, and we now affirm you making it your personal and public decision. It is ok to be baptized twice.
You don’t do this to follow Jesus. You do this because you are following Jesus. You don’t go to a cabinet for an aspirin to get a headache - you go to the medical cabinet because you have a headache.
In Christ we are no longer sinners but we are sons/daughters of the King.
You might sin, but that is not your identity in Christ. Sinning is something you may do, but it is not who you are any longer in Jesus. you are a child of God who is new, bought and paid for! Baptism is a celebration of this new reality.
What part of Jesus’ story does water baptism represent? Going underwater is much like when Jesus went into the tomb. You won’t stay under the water, just like Jesus didn’t stay in the tomb. He came back to life.
